Dear ACPC Member:

We hope you and your families are all well.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National State of Emergency, travel restrictions, limits on the numbers of people who can gather, and for the health and safety of our members, your ACPC Executive Committee has made the difficult but prudent decision to cancel the 2020 Summer Meeting scheduled for June 29-July 1, 2020 in Cambridge, MD.

Extraordinary times like these underscore the importance of collaboration and information sharing. Considering the cancellation of our upcoming meeting and to ensure ACPC continues to meet our members’ needs in this moment, we are launching an ACPC interactive webinar series entitled “Corporate Patent Perspectives” for all members free of charge. We will offer several short sessions (around 1 hour each) over the next few months on issues related to patent/IP practice that we are facing currently, as well as some content originally planned for the cancelled meeting. We expect to use ZOOM for these sessions to provide members the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.

The first three topics the Program Committee is developing for you are:

  1. “Responding to Budget Directives Caused by COVID-19” (Thursday, April 30).  Thank you for attending this Event!
  2. “USPTO Developments in Response to COVID-19” (Thursday, May 21, at 2 pm ET) Thank you for attending this Event!
  3. “Post-COVID-19 Emerging IP Risks and Opportunities” (Thursday, June 11 at 2 pm ET)

Watch our website acpcnet.org and your email for additional information about these sessions, including how to register. Please send us your ideas for additional webinar content. The Program Committee wants your input to produce the most valuable content possible. WHO WE ARE

The Association of Corporate Patent Counsel (ACPC) is a membership association of Chief Intellectual Property Counsel of businesses operating in the United States.  ACPC was created in 1966 to provide a forum for Chief Intellectual Property Counsel (or equivalent) to share best practices related to intellectual property management, operations, strategies and the issues and challenges faced on the job. The Association strives to achieve this by holding two national meetings per year which focus on (i) networking with in-house peers, (ii) having presentations from high quality speakers covering current topics for continuing legal education, and (iii) sharing insights into best practices through benchmarking.
